Seems that others don’t like the fact that the Utah Open Source Planet is rotating a little fast. I guess it’s an 8 hour difference between Mountain Standard Time and UTC. Well, you can *not* slow the Planet’s rotation that much without major repercussions. Hold on to your seats, adjust your clocks and expect some breakage.

I’m confused… is there maybe supposed to be a link in there somewhere? The context for this sounds interesting, but I can’t find it…

Sorry, no links. Two people within a week asked me (in private IMs) to “fix” the Planet so that it doesn’t run on UTC. It was my first peek into Python. Kinda fun.

I was assuming the planet was running on UTC.. wondered why it was always tomorrow by mid afternoon :)

Ah. My mind was glossing over the capital P in “Planet”, so I wasn’t making the connection to to aggregator. Thanks!
(I seriously thought you were referring to come weird wacko group that wanted to slow down the rotation of the Earth… :)
