Arachnopedia, where are you?

Does anyone know what kind of spider this is?

Spider

I found one in my basement and two in my garage this week. I think the farmer cutting his field last week must have left them looking for new homes. I hadn’t seen any until that time.

Even with all of the sites on the Internet that have identification charts, I still can’t seem to find on that looks just like it.

I can’t say what kind of spider it is, but I’ve seen them a lot. They’re probably indigenous to Utah, are pretty harmless and can run quite fast.

    Try here:

    http://whatsthatbug.com

More bug (and spider) pictures and identifications than you can shake a stick at.

They have like 7 pages of spider id’s.

Thanks for the info. Looks like it’s probably a Grass Spider A.K.A. Funnel Web Spider. I haven’t seen any webs so it *might* be a Wolf Spider. Gosh, they are ugly.

Arachnopedia.com is AVAILABLE. Sweet!!! Better jump on it before someone gets it. You could make a million dollars or something.

Gabriel - It’s not a funnel web spider (at least I would hope not).

They are only indigenous to the eastern Australia coast around Sydney - killed 1/2 when I lived there. If it is, be carefull as they are particularily vicious buggers and highly poisonous.
