Ah VoIP…
My caller ID shows up as:
“COMFORT INN SUI” <3038045380>
7 out of 10 is good if your are playing “name that tune”. For caller ID, it might as well be 0 out of 10. The good news is that my VTP is better to deal with then Qwest.
Oh yeah, and my name is not Mr. Comfort Sui.

Maybe (and bear with me here — initally, this is gonna sound like an urban legend), your VoIP provider or one of his upstream providers really is using phone lines at a Comfort Inn that are basically stolen — think about it. Most hotels have good network connectivity, and abundance of phone lines, and a total lack of security.
You laugh, but there’s a big problem in the VoIP industry right now with VoIP providers eithere knowingly or unknowingly reselling “stolen” phone service from large corporations.
Just something to make you go Hmmmmn…..
